Lieutenant Colonel Everhart enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in August 1992. He completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC and Aircraft Recovery School at NAS Millington, TN. As an aircraft recovery specialist LtCol Everhart was stationed at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni, Japan, MCAS Tustin, and MCAS El Toro. He also completed exercises in Thailand, Korea, and Australia.
In 2001, LtCol Everhart made a lateral move into the signals intelligence field serving with 1st Radio Battalion located at Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH). In October of 2002, LtCol Everhart was selected to attend Officer Candidates School (OCS) as part of the Enlisted Commissioning Program. After completing OCS and The Basic School, LtCol Everhart was assigned to Second Battalion, Third Marines (2/3) at MCBH in October of 2003. During three years with 2/3 he served in every billet within the S-4 shop to include the Maintenance Management Officer, Motor Transport Officer, Armory Officer, Embark Officer, Facilities Officer, and the S-4 officer. This period was also marked by deployments to Afghanistan and an eight-month Marine Expeditionary Unit deployment aboard the USS Essex.
In October of 2006 LtCol Everhart moved to Camp Smith, HI and assumed duty as the S-4 officer for Headquarters and Service Battalion (HQSVCBN), Marine Forces Pacific (MFP). In May of 2008, LtCol Everhart volunteered for an IA billet in Fallujah, Iraq. As the “Tiger Team” OIC for the Multi National Force West G-4, LtCol Everhart was responsible for the inventory, collection, redistribution, and retrograde of equipment out of the Iraq theater. Upon his return to MFP, LtCol Everhart assumed duty as the Company Commander for Headquarters Company, HQSVCBN, MFP.
LtCol Everhart next served as an Officer Selection Officer in New York, NY. Following this assignment LtCol Everhart moved to Camp Lejeune, NC to serve as the Assistant Operations Officer of Combat Logistics Battalion 2 (CLB-2). During this period LtCol Everhart deployed to Afghanistan in support of OEF 12-2. Following the deployment, LtCol Everhart was selected to attend the United States Army’s Command and General Staff College in Leavenworth, KS and graduated from that school in June of 2014.
LtCol Everhart checked into Central Command in June of 2014 and served as a planner in the J4-Distribution branch and then as the Aide-de-Camp to the CENTCOM Deputy Commander. He next served as the S-4 Officer for Marine Corps Security Force Regiment from June-2017 through July-2019. Followed by an assignment to Marine Forces Command G-4.
LtCol Everhart’s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.
